THE VANGUARD VEO - A TRAVEL TRIPOD PUT THROUGH REAL-LIFE PACES
What do you do when it's time to launch your new travel-focused tripod to the ever-growing, ever-connected world of traveling photographers? You send it around the world, of course! And that's exactly what Talley Media accomplished in this project for Vanguard World USA.
In 2015, Vanguard Photo US, a worldwide manufacturer of innovative camera bags and tripods, approached us with their newest product: the Vanguard VEO Travel tripod. Designed with the world-traveling photographer in mind, the Vanguard VEO Tripod aimed at capturing the attention of affluent, socially-aware, and talented photographers not just in the US, but around the world. The challenge was not to introduce their product to the world, but rather, intrigue their target market with aspiration of wanderlust, backed by the ability to capture it with the versatility, durability, and portability of the VEO.
What better way to prove the worth of a travel tripod than to, well, travel with it? Vanguard wanted our help spreading the word and creating awareness about their product in real-life travel scenarios - so we decided that the only option was to travel with it, around the world. Starting in Portland, Oregon, USA, and traveling in a circle once around the globe by plane, over the span of 3 months, Talley Media developed unique set of visual content across 7 countries to prove the worth of their newest and most essential piece of gear. We developed video and photo content on everywhere from the favelas of Brazil, to the bazaars of India, to the lakes of Mt. Fuji, Japan, and beyond. The content was used on their social media channels and website to showcase the versatility, durability, and portability of their new tripod - and it worked.
